The Sumway waitlist
What we keep when you leave your email on this site, why, and how to leave. Last updated 1 November 2026.
What we keep
- Your email address.
- Your area, if you add one. Either the suburb or city you type, or a broad area your own device works out from your location, about 5 km² across. Your location itself never leaves your device; only the area does.
- Your consent: the exact words you agreed to and when, and the page you signed up on.
- For an hour, a scrambled form of your internet address, so the form can't be flooded. It is one-way: it can't be turned back into the address, and it expires by itself.
Why
To email you when Sumway launches and, where we can, when it reaches your area. That is all. We don't sell your details, share them with advertisers, or add you to anything else.
Where
On Amazon Web Services, in the United States (us-east-1), encrypted at rest and reachable only by Sumway's own systems.
How to leave
Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all further email. You can also ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it entirely: write to info@sumway.xyz.
Our emails
Waitlist emails come from no-reply@sumway.xyz and are sent with Amazon's email service. Replies go to info@sumway.xyz. If an address bounces permanently or its owner marks our email as spam, we stop sending to it.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to its use, and complain to the Information Regulator.
